## Sequence Diagram — Eraser

### What is a sequence diagram

- Each vertical column represents an entity (e.g. user, server, DB)
- Arrows between the columns represent the flow of information or requests
- Events are chronologically sequenced from top to bottom
- Full syntax documentation [here](https://docs.tryeraser.com/docs/syntax-2)

### How to insert a new sequence diagram

2. Select "Diagram as Code"

### How to edit a sequence diagram
_Eraser's sequence diagrams are created and edited in code form, a concept we call Diagram-as-Code_

1. **Double-click** on the diagram to open the code editor
2. Each line of code represents a message or a statement
   1. Try typing `Server > Client: Request` on a new line
   2. Try typing `title My Diagram` on a new line
3. Click on the "Syntax Help" or [documentation](https://docs.tryeraser.com/docs/syntax-2) to learn more.
